Rich Tremonte

Executive Vice President and President, U.S. Pharmaceuticals & Animal Health

As EVP & President of U.S. Pharmaceuticals & Animal Health, Rich is responsible for leading teams and solutions that support AmerisourceBergen’s (AB) entire U.S. customer base, including health systems and government entities, national and regional chain pharmacies, independent retail and long-term care pharmacies and specialty physician practices. This represents tens of thousands of healthcare sites across the country. In addition, Rich is responsible for AB’s Animal Health business both in the U.S. and internationally. Rich brings deep knowledge of pharmaceutical product and commercial strategy that helps AmerisourceBergen drive efficiency and support for the entire healthcare supply chain and deliver long-term value for customers.  

Prior to this, Rich led Customer Operations, Animal Health, Corporate Partnerships, and the Community Retail & Long-Term Care segments for AmerisourceBergen. Before that, Rich served as President of Strategic Global Sourcing, where he oversaw all of AmerisourceBergen's sourcing, pricing, and inside sales activity in brand, specialty, generics, over-the-counter products, biosimilar, animal health and med-surg products. This included leading global offices in Ireland and Switzerland and serving as procurement liaison with Walgreens Boots Alliance Development. 

Prior to joining AmerisourceBergen in 2013, Rich held leadership roles at Sandoz, Inc. (Novartis) and Teva Pharmaceuticals in various sales, marketing, operations, and supply chain positions of increasing responsibility. And prior to that, Rich was at Black & Decker in their Supply Chain Development Program. 

Rich received his undergraduate degree from Pennsylvania State University with a bachelor’s degree in Business Logistics/Supply Chain. He graduated from Temple University with a Master of Business Administration, as well as a post-MBA certificate in Basic Pharmaceutical Development from the Temple School of Pharmacy. Rich is also a graduate of Wharton’s Advanced Management Program (AMP) at the University of Pennsylvania.

Passionate about community service, Rich serves as a board member on the Greater Delaware Valley Chapter of JDRF where he is Chair of the Nominating & Board Development Committee. He is also a board member of the Healthcare Distribution Alliance (HDA) and serves as member of the organization’s Executive Committee. In his spare time, Rich coaches youth ice hockey in the greater Philadelphia area.
