PGY1 and PGY2 Corporate Pharmacy Administration and Leadership with Masters
Upcoming residency information sessions
Program overview
The resident will undergo comprehensive PGY1 health systems training, completing their PGY1 Pharmacy residency at one of four partner health systems, followed by a PGY2 in Corporate Pharmacy Administration and Leadership (CPAL) with Cencora (formerly AmerisourceBergen). The PGY2 year will be completed remotely while being physically located at the PGY1 health system.
These distinctive combined residency programs are set to commence in July 2025 with ASHP Accredited PGY1 partnerships with Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Henry Ford Hospital, and UC Davis Medical Center. As part of this initiative, the resident will benefit from participating in the PGY1 residency program at the partner health system and then join a select residency cohort of four residents who will complete the PGY2 year with Cencora. Each two-year program will have its own unique ASHP Program number, signifying individual partnerships with each of the four health system partners.
These combined residency programs are designed using the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) Residency Standards, and utilizes the goals and objectives designed within this program.
Cencora has initiated the Residency Accreditation process by seeking Pre-Candidate status for this PGY1/PGY2 combined program with the American Society of Health System Pharmacists (ASHP). Each of the four PGY1 partner programs are fully accredited by ASHP.
Residents will be employees of the PGY1 health system for the first year of the program and are subject to all resident requirements, policies and procedures, and benefits as outlined for PGY1 residents in that health system. Residents become Cencora employees for the PGY2 year, and are subject to all resident requirements, policies and procedures, and benefits as outlined for Cencora pharmacy residents.
